#OutHouseMCR: A kitten called Bastet

Manchester’s Stevenson Square has long been a transient spot. The murals on the square change regularly as part of the #OutHouseMCR project, which curates the wall space to showcase different artists throughout the year.

The square was up for the first re-paint of the year and I was lucky enough to jump in at just the right time to grab one of the smaller spots!

The artwork is inspired by the alabaster cat carvings of Ancient Egypt. The original design was created digitally, to be used for things like stickers and screen prints, so recreating it by hand came with a few challenges but I was happy with the results!
