Happy Halloween!

I love Halloween – mainly because it’s the perfect excuse to create illustrations of weird monsters and supernatural characters!

This year, I’ve also created some limited edition mini prints and stickers, which I’ve mailed out to clients and patrons with some sweet treats. The rest are destined for an #ArtDrop mission around Manchester’s Northern Quarter – find one and it’s yours!

Happy Fox Limited Edition Print

I don’t do many print releases these days so I’ve made this one extra special.

This 9×9″ Happy Fox is printed on a lush 300gsm smooth rag with vibrant archival inks. There are only 25 prints available in this design, with each one hand signed and numbered in pencil on the reverse.

RB Private Art Print Commission

I always welcome the opportunity to create private commissions for people’s homes! Here’s one I’ve been working on recently in between freelance projects.

The piece was developed from a pencil sketch and inked in Adobe Illustrator, before being sent on to the good people over at The Print Space to produce on a lovely Museum Grade Canson Aquarelle Rag, as a 1/1 Fine Art Print.

Oops..!

“Oops..!”
Another Robot Doodle, following on in the series from the Eeek..! and Burp..! characters I created earlier this summer. This one marks the last in the series for a while, although I do enjoy working in this style so will no doubt it up again at some point.

Works in Progress

I’ve been catching up with a whole bunch of projects this weekend, including some pipe smoking robots for a one-off private commission print, plus some new limited edition Doodle goodies for my online store!

Until they’re all finished up, here are a few sneak peeks of what I’ve been working on.

Eeek..!

“Eeek..!”

I created a new doodle robot this weekend. Taken from a messy sketch in my notebook and developed in Adobe Illustrator as a colouring style experiment. I’m pleased with how it turned out so will be creating a few more robots in this style over the coming months.

The AwesomeBet: H is for Home

I recently got involved with an awesome new project run by We Heart Arts, which called for 26 different designers to create a letter from the alphabet, illustrating what they thought was the most awesome thing about life. The collection of artworks are to form a re-imagining of the alphabet, appropriately named The AwesomeBet.

I was assigned the letter H, for which I’ve chosen ‘home’ as the theme for my submission. As boring as it may sound to some, for me, home is one of the most awesome places to be!

The submissions are to be made into a series of A3 posters, plus a picture book to help kids learn the alphabet. All funds raised will be donated to fund young people’s creative arts projects. We Heart Arts will also be donating a free copy of the book to a school for every five copies sold.

There have been some fantastic artworks submitted to the project so far, all of which can be purchased from the We Heart Arts online store here – weheartarts.com/shop

Flying Pharaohs

I’ve always been fascinated by Ancient Egypt – in particular its Art and Mythology. The more recent discoveries from the uncovering of Heracleion have captured my imagination this past few days, inspiring all kinds of Egyptian themed doodles in my notebook.

This latest illustration has been digitally develop from one of these doodles, using Adobe Illustrator for the line art and colours, with a bit of Photoshop for the textures.

Limited edition Art Prints will be available soon! Drop me a message if you’d like to reserve one.
