I’ve really enjoyed taking part in the Collab (Inter)Nation(al) project, so wanted to give back something that showcased the project outside of the social media community, whilst keeping the costs as low as possible as the budget was tight.
Working in WordPress, we sourced a pre-built theme to act as the wire frame, before editing the CSS in order to fine tune the design to include an illustrated banner, improved navigation and matching colours so it suited the band’s look and feel.
While we handled the front end design and content management in-house, we brought in Loma of DripDry Design to help out with a few back-end code tweaks. We plan to roll out an eCommerce section to the site in the near future, so keep an eye out for further updates!
We had a lot of fun putting this together. You can check out the finished website by visiting www.collabinternational.com where you can browse all of the artworks that have come out of the project so far (including a few of my own additions)
Customising pre-built WordPress themes can be a great way to get a starter website up and running when working with smaller website build budgets. If you’d like any help setting up one for your own project, get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
(…and of course, if you’re looking for something completely bespoke – we can help you with that too!)
