BBC Ten Pieces: Superconductor Illustrations

A few month’s ago I spent some time working with BBC Digital, to create a suite of illustrations for their Ten Pieces: SuperConductor online app.

The app allows users to create and share their very own animated music videos for the Ten Pieces tracks – from Ride of the Valkyries, to Mambo from West Side Story.

Once we established the overall themes, I was left to work up some characters, accessories and backgrounds, whilst drawing inspiration from the Ten Pieces tracks as I went along. From there, the graphics were added to the SuperConductor library for user’s to access and place within their video projects.

I had a lot of fun with this commission (both creating the graphics and testing them in the app!) and it was awesome seeing the illustrations come to life as part of people’s creations.
